Is the museum admission included in the $44 price?
Yes — your Frida Kahlo Museum admission ticket is bundled into the price. There is no additional payment at the door. The price covers the guide, the walking tour, the tastings, and the museum entry.
How much food is included — is it enough for a meal?
The tostada tasting is a genuine serving (typically 2–3 tostadas per person) and the chocolate stop is a real tasting with several pieces. It is not a full meal replacement but it is substantially more than a token nibble. Most guests eat a light breakfast beforehand.
Is the walking portion physically demanding?
The tour covers 2–3 kilometres over 4–5 hours at a relaxed walking pace. Coyoacán's streets are cobblestone, which can be tiring for some people. Comfortable flat shoes are strongly recommended. The tour is not suitable for wheelchairs due to the street surface.
What languages is the tour available in?
The tour is conducted in English. Spanish-language options may be available on certain dates — check the booking page when selecting your time slot.
Can I buy additional food at the market?
Absolutely — the Mercado de Coyoacán has dozens of stalls beyond the included tasting stops. Bring cash (Mexican pesos) if you want to purchase anything extra; many stalls do not accept cards.
How does this compare to the full-day Xochimilco + Frida Kahlo tour?
The Xochimilco full-day tour adds a boat ride on the ancient canals and hotel pickup, and runs 6–7 hours. This tour is a focused half-day with a neighbourhood food emphasis. If you want the full Mexico City classics in one day, go with Xochimilco. If you have an afternoon free and want to eat your way through Coyoacán, this is the better choice.
Is there a minimum group size?
The tour runs with a minimum of 2 participants. Solo travellers can book but the tour may be combined with other small groups to meet the minimum.
Oscar was a wealth of knowledge we would not have learned just attending the museum alone. He was funny and made our entire experience that much better.
The tostadas at the Mercado were incredible — we ended up going back on our own the next day. The guide did a wonderful job weaving the food history into the Coyoacán story before we even got to the museum. An excellent half-day.
Best value experience in all of Mexico City. We saw the neighbourhood, ate amazing food, and got into Casa Azul without queuing — all for less than I paid for dinner the night before. Would book again without hesitation.
