Is the museum admission ticket really included in the $76 price?
Yes — the Casa Azul admission ticket is included. You pay one price for the guide and the entry. There's no separate payment at the museum door.
Why is the 10-person cap important?
Casa Azul has small rooms and narrow corridors. At 15 or 20 people, you spend the tour looking at the back of other people's heads. At 10, everyone can stand in front of the painting being discussed, ask questions, and hear the answers. The cap is strictly enforced.
How does this compare to the standard skip-the-line small group tour?
The standard small group tour has a cap of 15 and focuses more broadly on biography and the museum layout. This expert tour goes significantly deeper into the symbolism of Frida's paintings — it's designed for people who want to understand the art, not just see the rooms.
Is the guide English-speaking?
Yes — the tour is conducted in English. Spanish-language tours may be available on request; check the booking page for language options on your preferred date.
How far in advance should I book?
At 10 people per group, this tour sells out faster than larger-group options. Booking at least a week ahead is strongly recommended, and further in advance during Mexican holidays or peak travel months (March–April, July–August, December).
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation applies when you cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time. Cancellations within 24 hours are not eligible for a refund.
Can I take photos inside the museum?
Photography is permitted in most areas of Casa Azul. Flash photography is restricted in certain rooms with sensitive works — your guide will let you know where it applies.
Is the Leon Trotsky Museum nearby? Can I visit both in one day?
The Trotsky Museum is a 5-minute walk from Casa Azul. After your 2-hour expert tour, you'll have plenty of time to visit it independently. Your guide can point you in the right direction at the end of the session.
Great job by Cinthya! We enjoyed her perspective on Frida given her education in women's history. It's more expensive than booking directly but the tour and the ability to get in last minute is worth the price.
Our guide took us through every room with an eye for the details I would have completely missed on my own — the symbolism in the paintings, the meaning behind the wardrobe choices, the story behind each room. I've been to a lot of museum tours and this was among the best.
The small group size made all the difference. We were never shuffled through — we could stand in front of each painting for as long as we wanted, and our guide answered every question without cutting anyone off. Two hours felt both short and deeply satisfying.
